DATE OF LAST POSTS

Heronbone: May 24 (excuse note accepted, in NZ)
Woebot: May 13 (leave period officially OVER: expected back online forthwith)
Blissblog: May 16 (needs new medical certificate; how's the thumb Simon?)
House at World's End: May 08 (erratic as ever)
Pillbox: March 27 (extended truanting; just not good enough)

Messrs Ingram and Reynolds should note that it is very nearly a MONTH since they last showed their faces.

i am in full agreement - i have been posting almost daily to make up for everyone else's absence.

feel like you and me are running the entire operation while everyone else sips pina colada on beaches and stuff - it's not really good enough!

Posted by: Stelfox at June 11, 2004 03:43 PM

and now i have that rupert holmes song stuck in my head...

we've got Loaf and Erase The World, what's wrong with you man?!

Matt has revised Woebot - he's taken some stuff off it! And fair play to him - I reckon he should delete a post a day so we can go back through Woebot and then TWANBOC and then all the comics he did before that. Innovation is hugely overrated, innit!

Plus then maybe some of the "can you release all the tracks as individual mp3s" leeches can start to appreciate him proper, like :-)

That forthright declaration of "FINISHED!" in Blissblog refers, I hope, to SR's post-punk book rather than his blog.

I got a feeling the show is over for Woebot. Quit while you're at the top, eh?

All eyes on Eden, Stelfox and K-Punk.

well at least Robin's back, and on form.

IIRC Matt said he had one big thing to post at WOEBOT before his hols, but yeah i think it'd be great for him to sack it off, bow out at the top as you say Paul.

Over the weekend, and following extensive discussions with Those Who Matter, I've definitely decided the same about Naked Maja - I've kind of said all I have to say, there are only so many ways you can juggle the words of the same story around, and the Ray Charles and Nick Drake pieces are I think a good way to bow out.

Maybe when I have a new story to tell I'll start it up again, but for now I'm just going to leave it.

I will plead thoroughly guilty to the case that House at World's End updates have been "erratic"; blame my deepening (on and off) personal depression and nerves for that. All that being said, I'm still feeling music and ideas as intensely as I ever was - just not quite as inclined these days, somehow, to want to write it all down.

Robin, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your depression; but I do hope that you realise that this post was v. lighthearted and just a way of expressing my appreciation and affection for these blogs really.
Lovely to see you back in any case. I especially enjoyed your fascist-hop post...

The one about the turnaround I did last Friday night / Saturday morning? Yes, I always enjoy writing about hip-hop volte-faces ("Get 'Em Girls" to "Lord You Know" = "Been There, Done That" to "Still D.R.E."? I think it might be even more dramatic than that, and over considerably less time of course).

Antonia Forest's "The Thuggery Affair" came in the post today! Expect some utterly incomprehensible ramblings about it, no doubt ...
