Fantastic Four movie in pre-production
(FF cover from The Silver Age Marvel Comics Index.)

Posted by: undercurrent at April 8, 2004 01:19 PMWhat, you don't think cgi can outdo Jack Kirby? Have you no faith?
Seriously, tho, a few yrs ago, there's no chance it would have been anything but hopeless --- but after X-men and Spiderman (awright Hulk was rubbish and I haven't even bothered with Daredevil), there are some reasons to be optimistic.
But of course it won't compete with Jack. But then what does?
Posted by: mark k-punk at April 8, 2004 01:30 PMI have a bad feeling this movie has been in pre-production hell for the best part of a decade if I remember rightly. There is an insanely money-hungry script that's been around for ages. Have there been developments beyond this Mark?
Posted by: Philip at April 8, 2004 05:28 PMI think longer, Phillip, but surely cgi has made it infinitely more plausible?
(It's more or less only in the context of superhero movies that I think cgi is worthwhile).
